Mono County Jail Mugshot Status
The official Mono County answer is direct: public inmate photos were disabled in the Citizen RIMS configuration inspected on May 31, 2026. The same configuration showed arrest photos disabled and the public arrests module disabled. The current incarcerated-people records inspected through the API did not include a public mugshot image URL.
That does not mean the jail never takes an internal booking photo. It means the public Mono County jail roster does not publish booking photos online through the enabled roster. The public roster is still useful for custody status, booking date, arrest agency, charges, bail, age, sex, and race. It should not be described as a public mugshot gallery.
The Mono Citizen RIMS incarcerated-people roster is the official roster interface, but the research found photos disabled in the public configuration.
The roster screenshot belongs with the mugshot issue because it shows the correct official route while the research confirms the photo field is not public.
Mono County Roster Without Photos
The public jail record can still provide enough detail to identify a custody record without a photo. The public fields include names, booking identifiers, booking and arrest dates, arresting and booking agency codes, arrest location, status, visible demographics, charges, charge codes, charge levels, counts, bail amounts, and total bail. The disabled fields are just as important because they prevent overpromising.

Mono County Photo Sources
The same Citizen RIMS platform has routes for arrests, warrants, and most-wanted features, but Mono's public configuration disabled several of them. That matters for mugshot search because many counties publish photos through a recent-arrests page or most-wanted gallery. Mono County's inspected public setup did not provide those photo routes.

A person seeking an official booking photo should start with the Mono Sheriff's records page. A public-records request should identify the person, date of arrest, booking date, booking number if known, and the requested item, such as booking photograph or booking record. The records office can review the request under California law.

That official records route is more accurate than relying on third-party reposting sites or assuming a public photo appears in the live roster.
California Mugshot Law Limits
California's Public Records Act gives access to many local agency records, but booking photos are not an unlimited public entitlement in every case. Government Code section 7923.610 addresses law-enforcement investigatory records and disclosure limits. Penal Code section 13300 controls dissemination of local summary criminal history information. Juvenile records, sealed records, medical details, victim or witness safety, and active investigations can restrict release.
Public access limit: Mono County's roster can show current custody without displaying a booking photo, and records staff may lawfully review or restrict photo requests.
California also has laws aimed at exploitative commercial use of booking photos. The safest records path is official sheriff records and court orders, not a pay-to-remove or commercial mugshot-publishing site. Commercial sites may copy or repost public material, but they are not the official custodian of Mono County records.
Mono County's disabled public photo setting should also be read with the booking-complete rule. A person may have an internal booking record before public roster display, and even after display, the public result can omit the photo. State and Federal Photos
CDCR, BOP, and ICE are separate custody systems. A person sentenced to state prison should be searched through CDCR CIRIS, and CDCR public photo behavior can differ from the county roster. A federal prisoner should be searched through the BOP inmate locator. Immigration custody uses ICE ODLS. Federal and ICE locators are custody tools, not public mugshot galleries.
No CDCR prison, BOP institution, or dedicated ICE detention facility was identified in Mono County. That does not prevent a Mono County case from involving later state, federal, or immigration custody. It only means the lookup channel changes after transfer.
